Well, if you watched the video then you're probably laughing right now. If you haven't yet, I won't spoil it for you. I'd like to go into a bit more detail on the short clip above to help clarify a few things.

First, our sponsorship and PRISM Gala teams are in full swing.
If your company or organization has been contacted by them about being a sponsor for the 2014 PRISM Awards, I would like to encourage you to please consider being part of the event this year. From what I've seen, it's going to be one of the best we've ever seen with nearly 100 entries already received. If you missed the early bird and regular deadline, you still have one more chance so get to work.

In addition, we would like to get your submissions for three individual awards:
The Roger Yarrington Public Relations Professional of the Year Award (not person of the year like I said in the video- There are local practitioners who deserve special recognition for their contributions to the public relations profession. If you know someone who is exemplary in the PR field in Kansas City, please nominate the practitioner for the award.

The Bill DeLay Award for Distinguished Service to GKC PRSA - GKC PRSA relies on members’ participation and volunteerism to achieve its goals. The chapter created the GKC PRSA Service Award to recognize these efforts. If you know someone who goes above and beyond in serving the chapter, please nominate them for this.

The Public Relations Team (PR Team) of the Year Award
GKC PRSA will also recognize a PR team who deserves special recognition for its achievements during the past year. This team can be a PR agency, internal PR group or collaboration.

You know someone or a team that meets this criteria. Help us by nominating them today.

Second, we are getting the band back together - and I mean the whole band.
AdFarm and the Greater Kansas City PRSA chapter are sponsoring a FREE all marketing communication clubs event on July 23. This event is open to members of GKCPRSA, Social Media Club of Kansas CityAmerican Advertising Federation-KCBusiness Marketing Association-KCInternational Association of Business Communications-KCAmerican Marketing Association of KCMedia Mix Kansas CityKansas City Direct Marketing AssociationKansas City Interactive Marketing AssociationAIGA Kansas City and Freelance Exchange of Kansas City.

Finally, on a personal note - remember to take a break.
You work hard. You serve your teams, your clients and your families. Be sure to stop every once in a while and take a look around. Relax. Take time out to reflect and enjoy life. Make sure you're not working from weekend to weekend. Also, if there is anything we can do to help make life a little better, let us know what we can do. We care about you both personally and professionally.
