Greater Kansas City PRSA wants to help you get your 2011 media relations efforts off to a strong start. That's why this year's kickoff event is a panel discussion featuring representatives from several of Kansas City's most influential media outlets.

The past couple of years have brought many changes to the local media landscape. News staffs are smaller, beats have been consolidated, budgets have shrunk, and many longtime journalists have retired or moved on. Oh, and let's not forget about the added responsibility of reporting news throughout the day on air, in print, online, and via social media.

Our guests will share how PR pros can best work with their respective outlets amid all these changes. Confirmed guests include:

• Jabulani Leffall and Andrea Silenzi, host and producer of KCUR's Central Standard
• Steve Vockrodt, legal reporter at the Kansas City Business Journal
• George Mills, assistant news director for WDAF-TV
