Did you know that the largest American-owned manufacturer of portland cement is headquartered in Overland Park? Ash Grove Cement Company operates eight manufacturing plans and dozens of affiliated terminals, sales offices, quarries, ready-mix concrete plants, and other facilities across the central and western United States.

As you might expect, an organization of this size has to maintain relationships with hundreds of stakeholder groups, and the person in charge of it all is a member of Greater Kansas City PRSA: Jackie Clark.

Join Jackie on Tuesday, May 17, for a discussion of her community relations and issues management programs. She'll discuss some of her recent initiatives and facilitate a conversation about best practices for building relationships in the community, organizing and mobilizing supporters, and managing the various issues that inevitably arise in heavy industry.

Be sure to bring questions, comments and ideas, as this event is intended to be a conversation among peers.

Jackie Clark, APR, is a longtime GKC PRSA leader and former chapter president. In 2009, she was named the chapter's Roger Yarrington PR Professional of the Year. In 2010, she was selected to join PRSA's prestigious College of Fellows, making her one of only two current chapter members to hold that distinction.

Beer, wine, soft drinks and light appetizers will be provided.
