Okay. We get it.
Social media is important. Smart companies must embrace social media strategies as part of their communication program. To ignore social media is to jeopardize the relevance of you brand in a changing media environment.
But what if you represent a bank, investment advisor, or some other kind of financial services firm where your marketing/PR program is subject to intense regulatory scrutiny?
Many PR pros who work with banking/financial services companies want to bring social media into the communications mix, but it’s hard to find clear guidelines explaining what tactics are okay and what could run afoul of various regulations.
GKC PRSA wants to help solve that problem. That’s why July’s event will feature Jeff Heuer, a partner in the St. Louis office of Husch Blackwell and the firm’s leader on consumer financial services including the newly created Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
Jeff will explain the regulatory landscape in the banking/financial services industry, and help us understand what PR pros need to consider when developing and executing social media campaigns for those companies. He promises to take a solutions-oriented approach and give us practical advice...not just a list of things we’re not allowed to do.
When he’s not leading great presentations for GKC PRSA, Jeff counsels and defends financial institutions and creditors in a wide variety of compliance and operational issues including financial privacy, information sharing, “Red Flags,” data breach and record retention issues.
We hope you can join us!
