Class is back in session! Join us for a lunchtime crash course in media relations with Andy DiOrio, APR—the U.S. Regional Lead for Amazon's Field Communications Team covering a 10-state West Central Region. He'll share what he's learned pitching, prepping, and building trust with media over the course of a 15-plus-year career, and especially the past five at a Fortune 1 company.
From crafting a pitch that actually gets read to delivering a polished, camera-ready interview, Andy will break down how to plan for success—and adjust in real time when high-profile media moments don't go as planned. He'll also share how he's using AI as a strategic advantage in his day-to-day approach to media relations.
Walk away with proven tactics from real case studies you can use tomorrow—whether you're pitching your first story or your five-hundredth.
Box lunches provided. Seats are limited—reserve yours today.
More on Andy
Andy DiOrio, APR, is the U.S. Regional Lead for Amazon's Field Communications Team’s West Central Region, where he directs strategic external communications across a tri-state region in the Midwest and leads a team that covers an additional seven states in the Mountain West and Southwest.
He is a cross-trained communicator in both internal and external communications – including more than 250 hours as a spokesperson in live and taped interviews – and worked for global brands Sprint, AMC Theatres, Lockton Companies and Hallmark. He also founded a freelance communications practice, DiOrio Communications, bringing quick relief for messaging migraines.

He received his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from PRSA and also served on the Kansas City boards of IABC and PRSA, the latter of which he was the chapter’s first board President to serve two consecutive terms.
From GKC-PRSA he is also the only two-time winner of the chapter’s Bill DeLay Award for Distinguished Service, received its Best in Show Award, and earned its 2023 PR Team of the Year honor. However, his proudest achievement is being a father to his two daughters.
